Expatriates and the Expatriate Experience


The U.S. was the most frequently selected location for an expat assignment, reflecting the global nature of business today.
Recommend 0

ixty-seven percent of companies surveyed reported an increase in the number of expatriates in 2007, and 25 percent of companies said they had no change in the number of workers being sent to out-of-country assignments. Sixty percent of expatriates were married, a drop from the historical average of 66 percent. At 51 percent, the proportion of married men among expats was the lowest in the survey's history. Males being accompanied by significant others composed 8 percent—the highest in the survey's history. Meanwhile, the U.S. was the most frequently selected location for an expat assignment, reflecting the global nature of business to day.
